Photographers can submit work on the theme of poverty to a global contest.
Organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
and China’s Xinhua News Agency, “Zoom-in on Poverty: Action Now,” encourages international photographers to submit entries that emphasize both the challenges and solutions of poverty reduction over the past 10 years.
Top entries will be featured on the Xinhua newswire network and its affiliated magazines, newspapers and TV network, as well as through online platforms and showrooms in UN agencies around the world.
Winners will be invited to participate in an awards ceremony in Beijing on October 17, 2011 – the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
