ICFJ seeks experienced entrepreneur and business manager to transform a global media development group
The International Center for Journalists seeks an experienced entrepreneur and business manager to transform a global media development group into a self-sustaining network. The goal: to improve the quality of journalism and strengthen media worldwide.
Working as part of ICFJ’s Knight International Journalism Fellowships, the Fellow will help to develop a long-term strategic plan, craft a focused mission and come up with fundraising and marketing strategies both for the global group and its members. The Fellow also will help the group and its members build support through a global conference, regional conferences and awards programs. The Fellow should have the entrepreneurial and business-management experience needed to help reshape the global organization and strengthen its network of regional members. A background in journalism and media management is preferred.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience in strategic planning for non-profit NGOs
Experience in international media development preferred
Experience in new media technology preferred
Experience in both developed and developing nations preferred
Experience in journalism or media management preferred
Fluency in English is required; fluency in at least one other international language is preferred
Demonstrated entrepreneurial skills
Excellent organizational skills
