Online guide helps reporters cover children
The humanitarian news network Reuters AlertNet has launched a new online tool for journalists, fact-checkers and editors covering everything to do with children and humanitarian issues.
The briefing looks at how childhoods are stolen by poverty, war and disaster, and includes the most relevant and up-to-date statistics and sources. It contains sections on health, AIDS, hunger, refugees, landmines and disasters, as well as a guide to the ethical dilemmas around reporting on children and using them in photos.
