Journalism fellowship on poverty open
Journalists and journalism students can apply for a grant.
The Marguerite Casey Foundation Fellowship Program on Poverty aims to increase the public’s and policymakers’ understanding of poverty through journalism.
Fellows and scholars selected will write at least one in-depth story or a short series from the point of view of families living in poverty and illustrate how language, culture and race influence public attitudes and policy about poor people.
Reuters offers free political reporting course
Journalists from Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, or Slovenia can apply for a training program.
Reuters will select 16 journalists to attend a two 10-day training programs in London and Berlin. Participants will also travel to Brussels and Frankfurt to meet policy-makers and journalists covering European financial and political affairs.
